General Requirements

The required documents depend on various factors such as nationality, place of residence, marital status, existing children, etc. During a non-binding initial consultation, we review your individual situation and limit the requirements to what is truly necessary.

Important note: All documents must be photographed or scanned in the best possible quality and submitted to us as PDF files.

Proof of Relationship

Since 2019, the requirements of the Danish authorities regarding marriage applications have become stricter – particularly to prevent marriages of convenience.

The following proof is required:

Private and shared photos of the couple (over a longer period of time)
Correspondence (e.g. WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger (Facebook, Instagram), or similar messages) and records of phone calls dating back several months
Proof of joint vacations or travels (flight tickets, hotel bookings, etc.)
Proof of a shared residence (if applicable)
If you have children together: birth certificate(s)
