The Process

After your documents have been correctly submitted, the processing time by the Danish authorities is usually around 5 working days. However, even the smallest errors or incomplete information can delay the processing of your application by up to 6 months.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we ensure that your documents are submitted correctly and completely in order to avoid unnecessary delays.

Initial Contact & Personal Consultation

At the beginning, we arrange an initial phone consultation with our agency. During this conversation, we review your individual situation and clarify which documents are specifically required.

You will then send these documents to us in the best possible quality by email to info@albina-service.com or via WhatsApp to +49 (0) 173 27 41 41 3. At the same time, you will receive the necessary forms from us, which must be completed and signed by you.

1
Submission & Review of Your Documents

As soon as we have received your complete documents and the fee to the Danish authorities has been paid – you will receive detailed information about this during the process – we will take care of the entire application submission to the responsible Danish authority.

2
Appointment Scheduling with the Registry Office

After approval and receipt of the certificate of marital capacity, we will arrange your preferred wedding date together with a suitable municipality. Within a few days, we receive the official confirmation for your civil wedding ceremony.

3
The Wedding Ceremony

You travel to Denmark independently – we support and accompany you by phone at all times right up to your “I do.” If required, we are also happy to assist you with travel planning.

The civil ceremony in Denmark is personal, warm, and fully legally recognized. You may choose to have the ceremony conducted either in German or in English.

Immediately after the marriage ceremony, both spouses receive the Danish marriage certificate on site, issued in five languages.

4
After Your Return
The Danish marriage certificate is immediately legally valid in Germany. Your marriage in Denmark is therefore officially and legally recognized in Germany, throughout the EU, and in most other countries (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, etc.) worldwide.

Recognition of the Danish Marriage Abroad

Thanks to the bilateral agreement of 1936 between Germany and Denmark, marriages concluded in Denmark are recognized in Germany without the need for an apostille or legalization.

An apostille is an international certification stamp issued by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that makes the marriage certificate and the marriage legally recognizable worldwide – especially in non-EU countries.

Outside the EU (e.g. Switzerland, the USA, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, etc.), this agreement does not apply. In such cases, a Hague Apostille on the Danish marriage certificate is generally required.

Note: Even in Germany, an apostille may occasionally be requested in individual cases (e.g. for name changes or specific administrative procedures).

To avoid any potential complications in the future, we recommend having your Danish marriage certificate apostilled as a precaution. This ensures you are fully on the safe side internationally.

Our service: we handle the entire legalization process for you. The processing time is usually around 21 working days.
